It’s so rare to see a game take the risks that Sunset Overdrive took. Personally, I love Sunset Overdrive. (That dragon quest took me back with the kind of thrilling element I hadn’t seen in a long time.)

I realize it was a love/hate game for many, but the fact that game companies like Insomniac Games are taking these risks is good for the industry as a whole. We should salute Microsoft and Insomniac Games for making and allowing this game to happen. And I really hope we see Sunset Overdrive 2.

Regardless of how much you enjoyed Sunset Overdrive, if you’re interested in game design (especially with a game that steps outside the box), this is an intriguing and worthwhile video.
